Ozonated Water

North Atlantic, Inc. was the first seafood processor in the United States to integrate Ozonated Water into plant operation. Ozonated water (H10) is created by passing electrical charge through water under pressure. Ozone is highly unstable in the environment and binds with organic carbon on contact. The most readily available carbon present in the natural environment is in bacteria. Upon contact, ozone binds with the carbon in the bacteria to form very stable carbon dioxide (CO2). This reaction kills the bacteria.

In optimize food safety, all the surfaces of NAI's processing plants are washed daily with ozonated water. In addition, ozonated water rinses are employed on North Atlantic, Inc.'s fillet processing lines. Laboratory testing has demonstrated that ozone rinsing can reduce that bacteria counts on both skin and cut sides of fillets up to 99%.

Private Label Packaging

Private label packing of frozen seafood products is not new. However, North Atlantic, Inc.'s reputation for innovation has made us the best partner for supermarkets looking to customize their private label seafood programs. Rather then producing stock products then looking for customers to market them to, North Atlantic, Inc. produces and packs directly to customer supplied specs. In addition to packing in traditional printed poly bags, we are the first to pack fillets in innovative custom printed freezer films.

Overseas Operations

North Atlantic, Inc. is one of only a very few frozen fish fillet importers to own and operate our own processing plants in Asia. Most seafood is imported by companies who manage their business from their US offices. To ensure the safety, quality and on time delivery of our products, North Atlantic, Inc. operates our processing plant in Bali, Indonesia.
